Avus engineers wanted to make the M3 even sportier than the OEM version.

Working from their complex east of Berlin in Strausberg, engineers attempted to optimize the suspension and exhaust. They created a new front lip spoiler, rear deck lid spoiler, and rear diffuser from carbon fiber, before using the material on parts of the interior.

The show car rides on matte gunmetal wheels measuring 9x20 in the front and 10.5x20 in back. However, customers are not limited to this alone. The ADV.1 wheels may be purchased "in any size and [several] colors."

Over 25 years of experience in building the most performing motors for BMW are the legacy that RDSport infused in its latest M3 program. RDSport’s range of performance parts is as exclusive as it gets, and will allow you to custom build your M3 to match your preferred driving style.

All of RDSport’s products are engineered to work together, so you don’t have to worry about compatibility or fitting. We engineer and design it all in-house; therefore we can stand behind our products 100%. If that is not enough, we have many of our products tested by the German TÜV, so you can rest assured that we have done our homework beforehand, and you are getting a product that is approved for use on the M3 by the same authority that certifies the car in the first place.

It has always been BMW's trademark to produce the best, most sophisticated, naturally aspirated motors in the world, and these power plants have been winning Engine of the Year awards for the longest time.

At RDSport we have always believed that our engines should match the configuration of the BMW motor that we set out to modify, as this is the only way to retain the true character of the car, and provide a product that matches the reliability of the original motor.

The RS46 is truly the motor that BMW should have installed in the M3 in the first place: massive torque, blistering acceleration, and performance that puts many sports cars to shame.

Its engine internals are made from the highest quality materials, and could easily withstand the rigors of Formula One. In fact, if you were to compare the piston of an RS46 to that of an F1 motor of only a few seasons past, you would notice how close the two really are.

New engine internals include larger, forged, light-weight, aluminum pistons, forged, billet connecting rods and new billet crankshaft with a longer stroke. All of these parts equate to a larger displacement 4.6 liter motor, up from the factory 4.0 liter.

Also included in the build is a complete exhaust including; race, tubular headers with F1-style merge collectors, metal-matrix, sport, catalytic converters, X-Flow downpipe and sport silencers all built from stainless steel. Options for the motor include carbon air box, larger-displacement, carbon plenum chamber, power pulley, lightweight clutch and flywheel. The result is an amazing 524 bhp and an increase of 115 ft-lbs of torque over stock!

The RDSport front bumper is available in Stradale (Street - shown) or Corsa (Race) versions. Each is a complete bumper replacement made of carbon/Kevlar and contains larger ducting for brake and engine cooling.

The RDSport rear bumper features a carbon fiber/meshed diffuser section that allows for more weight saving and gives the aggressive rear that the RS46 deserves. The unit is a full replacement fascia of the original. Again to match the front and save weight the piece is constructed entirely carbon/Kevlar mat, which is extremely light and impact resistant. RDSport aero parts can also be fitted with the factory PDC sensors.

Also available are trunk and roof spoilers to smooth the airflow leaving the vehicle and aid in stability.
The RS46 is equipped with the RDSport Chassis kit consisting of specially valved Bilstein shocks and RDSport Springs. The set up leaves the vehicle with a 30 mm drop in the front and 25 mm lower in the rear. The shocks and springs are designed to work together beautifully and provide an extremely stable ride without any harshness. This optimized set-up was made available only after thousands of testing and development miles.

The RDSport RS Brake System consists of 6-piston, aluminum monoblock calipers on the front and 4-piston monoblock calipers in the rear. Customers have the option of ordering either cross-drilled or slotted rotors.

The RS2 Forged is the most classic and recognizable Racing Dynamics wheel design and it represents the latest iteration of a line of wheels that started back in 1986 with the first HSM wheel.

The center flange is machined out of a heat-treated 6061-T6 forging. Each one goes through 6 different machining operations totaling no less than 8 hours on our CNC equipment. The result is a stunning sculpture of incredible strength and lightness, with design details that are unique to this product and cannot be found on any other forged wheel in the market today. Due to the custom build of each wheel there is an endless selection of color options and finishes.

Optionally, RDSport offers the RC8 Forged Monobloc wheel that offers the ultimate in light weight performance. RDSport recommends Pirelli tires.

Several interior options are available from a simple shift knob or pedal set to a complete Alcantara interior conversion.

M3 is used to characterize 3 series top model of German car producer BMW. ATT tuner called its new power car Thunderstorm M3. Rastatt tuning specialists put much effort and creativity not only in design but also in great driving performance. At first glance you cannot estimate the scope of retrofitting, but the design is definitely not too stylish. Moreover, ATT has paid attention to powerful performance tuning.

The inbuilt compressor together with engine software optimization greatly increase engine performance. It is provided for by unique exhaust system with optimized dynamic pressure (available in two sound variations) for 1'355.00 Euro with 4x90 exhaust pipes increasing engine power up to 500 hp. The price for engine retrofitting is 11'749.00 Euros, including installation.

In order to correspond to driving performance, ATT gives its an upgrade in chassis. Now, KW coilover suspension Variant 3 (2'029.00 Euro) guarantees better road-holding, even at high speeds.

Huge ATT-TEC LeMans 20"alloy rims increase body overall width. 8,5x20 and 10x20 alloy rims with Michelin „Pilot Sport 2" 245/30 ZR 20 and 285/25 ZR 20 tyres cost 3'475.00 Euros, mounting & balancing included. The set is completed by 20 mm distance washers (for 393,00 Euros) on the front and rear axle.

Optionally you can order an interior packet for the passenger cabin with either carbon parts or Swarovski crystals.

Even when you see it from a distance, you are instantly electrified. As a BMW M enthusiast, every step you take towards the orange painted concept vehicle of the BMW M3 GTS with its numerous matt black applications raises your adrenaline level a little more.

Exclusive 19-inch wheels with ample 225/35 tyres at the front and 285/30 at the rear catch your eye.

All this is certainly nice looking and sensible, but what you glimpse through the spokes of the aluminium wheel rims is even more exciting: a generously sized fixed caliper brake system with six pistons at the front and four at the rear.

The wheels almost fill out the wheel arches, but if you look closely you discover the next highlight. Yellow springs with a small M logo provide the crucial clue: a threaded suspension, adjustable in compression and rebound. "The rear axle support is bolted in place," adds the responsible engineer.

The expert will also spot the adjustable front splitter and rear wing. One thing is clear: this car is serious stuff. Not only can a high level of downforce be generated but it also precisely adjustable at front and rear. Fast bends can look forward to welcoming the BMW M3 GTS - but they won't get to see it for long.

Which brings us to the next question: what does it weigh?

"The serial production BMW M3 is already weight-optimised with a whole range of measures reserved for the BMW M3 CSL in the last model - the striking carbon lightweight roof, for example."

So the engineers had to get back to work again to come up with more. Light body-contoured seats are a must.

A cluster of lightweight construction measures such as optimisation of the insulation, the use of lightweight parts in the interior, the use of Macrolon for the car's windows in the back, the lack of air conditioning, navigation and radio and the entire rear seat also gets the scales the down.

And the new titanium rear silencer not only looks great and contributes to the thrilling sound of the BMW M3 GTS, it is also much lighter than its serial production counterpart.

Indispensable for safety reasons: the lightweight construction body has been prepared for installation of the 6-point seatbelt included for use on the race track. There are also mounts for the roll-over protective structure bolted on from the B column. A fire extinguisher and a battery master switch/emergency shut-off preparation do not make the car lighter either - but safer.

So the BMW M3 GTS concept vehicle puts the scales up to around 1490 kilograms - causing the engineer to give an appreciative nod.

And the drivetrain? The heart of the BMW M3 GTS?

The car is fitted with a 7-speed M dual clutch transmission with adapted shift characteristics. But an absolute highlight is to be found under the bonnet. Exclusively for the BMW M3 GTS, the engine builders of BMW M - recent winners of the Engine of the Year Award once again - have developed a power unit based on the M high-performance engine of the current BMW M3: with a capacity of 4.4 litres and an output of some 450 bhp, it will catapult the light BMW M3 GTS into a whole new sphere.

After all, the aim is to clearly beat the lap time of the legendary M3 CSL on the Nürburgring Nordschleife. And test runs certainly give grounds for optimism.

The BMW M3 GTS is manufactured to order on an individual basis at the BMW M production workshops.

The price of the BMW M3 GTS with the features shown is expected to be EUR 115,000.- for delivery in Germany, including 19% VAT.

The first vehicles are due to be supplied in May 2010. For technical reasons relating to registration, the first vehicles to be produced will be those for individual registration in Germany. According to current planning, registrations in other countries will be possible from summer 2010.

If you are interested in the BMW M3 GTS, we recommend registering for our competition, in which you can win a place to attend the exclusive vehicle presentation.

Attention all sporty, family men! The new BMW M3 is also available as a four-door saloon. That means it's very easy to justify buying a new plaything to your sceptical wife (or, in fact, to your own conscience). It's just a shame that the Bavarian company hasn't yet been able to bring itself to make an M3 estate.

The tuners at Geilenkirchen-based Manhart Racing probably thought the same thing when they built the car that BMW didn't want to build; an M3 touring. To produce it, the team centred around legendary mechanic Günther Manhart, furnished the E91 bodywork with the front apron, front side panels, side skirts and of course, the characteristic powerdome bonnet from the M3 saloon, designed their own M3-style rear apron and widened the rear wheel-arches to give them that M3 look. The aerodynamic rear-view mirrors really topped it all off. However, Günther Manhart knows that you obviously can't just make a car look good; it has to have something under the bonnet too. The axles, the tank, the complete steering system and a range of other hidden but otherwise essential parts have all come from the M3.

V10 power in the E91

So it only remains to talk about what really makes the M3: The 4.2-litre V8 engine. But wait! At this point it should be mentioned that Manhart Racing specialises in fitting various BMW models with the formidable 5.0-litre engine from the M5 E60. And so the V10 engine found itself used in another BMW model, the E91. After optimising the electronics and incorporating HJS's stainless-steel four-pipe exhaust system with two 200-cell racing catalytic convertors, the heavy-duty unit manages an extremely impressive 550 PS, which is kept on a tight leash by the 7-speed SMG gearbox, also taken from the M5 and by the corresponding 100% limited slip differential With the vehicle possessing such an armoury, it can catapult itself from 0 to 100km/h in only 4.3 seconds and on the motorway it easily cruises past most other performance saloons and estates (including the ‘true' M3 and M5 models) with its top speed of 324km/h.

It's a good thing then, that Manhart Racing has equipped the car with tunable Bilstein PSS10 coilover suspension and an extremely stable Stoptech Sport Trophy Kit braking system with a six-piston calliper with grooved 380mm brake discs at the front and a four-piston calliper with 355mm brake discs on the drive shaft.
The RÄD Monza three-part forged wheels with black rims fit perfectly with the character of this vehicle, and they are available in 9.5" and 10.5" x 20" sizes. Flat, size 255/30ZR20 and 295/25ZR20 Hankook S1 Evo tyres aim to provide higher levels of longitudinal and lateral acceleration.

Performance interior

A detailed look at the interior is also very much worth your. Driver and passenger both sit in outstanding BMW sports seats, and the back seats can be upholstered with leather or Alcantara to match those in the front. Likewise, the leather interior with Alcantara roof and door linings as well as the carbon fittings and the BMW performance steering wheel with illuminating indicator switches really give the car that racing look.

Manhart Racing has set the purchase price for the complete car package at around €120,000. If desired, your current basis car can be upgraded.

Technical facts

Vehicle: BMW M3 E91 5.0 V10 SMG

The current M3 generation is - as everyone knows - anything but underpowered. Nonetheless, there is a continuous desire for even greater performance. When you're competing against the calibre of a Porsche 997 Turbo in particular, the 420-HP-V8 power of the M3 is no longer good enough.

At Manhart Racing, we noticed a gap in the market for precisely this performance problem and developed a M3-V10-Coupé with 550 HP - not only comfortably keeping in check the Porsche Turbo with its 480 HP but also its big brother the GT2 with 530 HP. What is particularly interesting here is the fact that Günther Manhart almost exclusively sourced original parts from the BMW corporate group.

The power of 550 HP originally came from the current new version of the M5 E60 built V10 motor which - with its 5.0 L cubic capacity - just barely fits into the engine compartment of the M3 Coupé. Compulsory changes included removing the pointless Vmax bar of 250 km/h, up-dated DME-steerage and with a power of 550 HP, the catalytic convertor has a much more noticeable effect. With a differential gear boasting 100 percent bars, the 7 gear SMG gearbox was completely trounced by the M5. The species specific processing of exhaust fumes is carried out by a titanium complete system with four 84 mm thick exhaust tailpipes and two 200 Zeller-HJS running catalytic convertors. Thanks to a manageable basic weight of only 1.550 kg, the Mannhart M3 V10 accelerates to 100 km7h in only 3.9 seconds, while its highest speed is an impressive 334 km/h. This makes the M3 V10 the perfect choice for speed freaks on the Italian high speed racing track in Nardo!

For perfect contact with tarmac surfaces, Manhart Racing installed a state-of-the-art Bilstein PSS10- coilover in combination with classically attractive BBS challenge-R-wheel rims, at the front in 9Jx20 ET20 with 245/30ZR20 and behind with 10.5Jx20 ET20 with 295/25ZR20. The changes to the bodywork were somewhat limited but definitely what was needed. In this way, Manhart Racing's engineers gave the coupé silhouette of the M3 a front and rear spoiler, a diffuser, a roof spoiler, front steel flooring and an air collector - all of course finished in exclusive carbon.

The exclusiveness continues inside the M3. Here you can also benefit from the classiest accessories straight from BMW. Performance seats provide the perfect support while also offering seat heating. An authentic motor sport feeling comes with the performance steering wheel equipped with illuminated rocker switches, ¼ mile and side acceleration display. The complete interior has a sophisticated finish thanks to a number of carbon fibre trimmings and the almost extravagant use of Alcantara and leather.

Conclusion: With a basic weight of 1.550 kg, 550 HP is a real announcement for the sports car armada from Stuttgart-Zuffenhausen. If you look more closely at the Manhart M3 V10, you have to - quite rightly - ask yourself why the engineers in Munich did not already come up with the idea themselves!

One of the best looking E46 M3 Coupe is from Kneißler Autotechnik. To be able to increase the performance of the high number of revolutions gearing up to 459 hp and 498 Nm, Kneißler Autotechnik offers a supercharger using a compressor kit and a charge air cooler with the adequate software optimization. After this capacity cure the sporty BMW M3 wants to get on the road, the highway or even better on the racetrack. Here in fiddly chicanes the Kneißler M3 feels at home. The increase of performance is worth 13.000 Euro. For additional 1.350 Euro Kneißler mounts a sport muffler, made of high grade steel.

These extreme driving performances make great damands on the tires, chassis and brakes. Kneißler mounts a Stoptech-high performance brake system with 6-lobes (3.852 Euro) and a two part slit discs (size 380x32 mm) at the front axle. The Stoptech brake system with 355/32 mm brake discs with 4-lobes (3.103 Euro) takes care of the needed deceleration in the rear.

The whole brake system is complemented by a innovative brake calliper air vent plug (109,00 Euro) from Stahlbus.

The advantages of the Oxigin-alloys are an addition of driving dynamics, exclusive visual appearance and they fill out the fender perfectly. The sizes are 8,5x20" and 11x20" and are hooped with high performance tires from Hankook, sizes 255/30-20 and 305/25-20. The prise for the set is 2.723 Euro. For an extra 350 Euro the wheel arch are flanged and custom-fit applied.

A KW-sport coilover kit V3 (1.749 Euro) and KW- sport stabilizers for 419 Euro make the mandling of the M3 supercharged even more sporty. You can get the conversion to LSD-gull-wing-doors in Pfalzgrafenweiler for 1.990 Euro.
