Priced at € 3,499, the changes result in a 0-100 km/h (62 mph) time of 4.1 seconds – down from 4.4 s, and an increased top speed of 310 km/h (192 mph). The company says a stage two conversion is currently in the pipeline.

The B6 Bi-Turbo Coupe features the aluminum twin-turbo 4.4-liter V8, equipped with MAHLE pistons and a high-performance cooling system, which now develops an output of 540 PS (397 kW / 533 hp) and 700 Nm (516 lb-ft) of torque. That's 33 more horsepower than on the recently announced B6 Bi-Turbo Cabriolet.

With the help of a revised eight-speed automatic transmission and a titanium exhaust system from Akrapovic, the 0 to 100km/h sprint takes just 4.4 seconds and top speed is 320 km/h.

The B6 Bi-Turbo Coupe also comes with an aerodynamic kit that includes a front spoiler with the integrated carbon fiber front splitter and a rear spoiler with an optional rear wing.

For the suspension, the B6 Bi-Turbo features Drive Performance Control (electronically adjustable dampers) and Dynamic Drive (active roll stabilization) as standard.

Wheels are the 20-inch Alpina Classic rims fitted with Michelin Pilot Super Sport tires.

For the interior the car gets a sport steering wheel hand-stitched in Lavalina leather, blue illuminated entry sills with logo and a trim in the classic Alpina myrtle wood.

Thanks to the Hartge sports spring set, the H35d sits 30 mm lower than the standard car. And typical of Hartge is the ‘Classic 2' wheel set. This ten-spoke wheel (8.5 x 21", offset 34, at the front and 9.5 x 21", offset 55, at the back) is fitted with Yokohama Advan Sport tyres (255/30 ZR 21 at the front and 295/25 ZR 21 at the back). The stainless-steel rear silencer with dual round tail pipes (80 mm diameter) generates a dynamic melody that masks the otherwise barely audible diesel sound. Design details ensuring an individual appearance include carbon casings for the exterior mirrors, matt-silver stripes, a set of emblems for the bonnet and boot lid, as well as a discrete Hartge insignia.

Traditional is the Hartge range of products for the interior, which includes a threespoke sports leather steering wheel with a Hartge emblem in aluminium, a carbon steering-wheel cover, a two-piece set of aluminium pedals for the automatic transmission, stainless-steel sill covers front and rear and black velour foot and boot mats.

The sporting nature of the H35d is demonstrated not only by its excellent handling but also by its sprinting abilities. It knocks 0.5 seconds from its standard brother's time for the standing start to 100 km/h and no less than 5.2 seconds to 200 km/h. The maximum speed of this elegant saloon is currently limited electronically to 250 km/h. However, Hartge will soon be able to release it from this ‘speed corset'.

It goes without saying that the looks of an edo competition car have to match its performance. The modified front and the new rear skirt revealing four chromed exhaust tips make a fashion statement, while an upgraded high-flow exhaust system provides the soundtrack. The low-pitched rumble at idle turns into a powerful staccato towards the upper end of the rev range. The eye-catching rear wing - along with the other exterior modifications - helps the edo M5 Dark Edition to a sinister presence from all angles, and the new 20 in. light alloy wheels with painted centers and Dunlop tires (255/35 R20 fronts, 285/30 R20 rears) do their part to improve the car's stance.

A production M5 has an electronically limited top speed of 250 km/h (155 mph), but thanks to a recalibrated ECU, high-flow air filters and catalytic converters as well as a newly developed high-performance exhaust system, this car's power output was increased from 500 to 555 horsepower. Its maximum torque output now stands at 560 Nm (413 lb-ft), up from 521 Nm (384 lb-ft). By removing the governor, a top speed of 305 km/h (190 mph) could be realized.

The additional power also has an effect on the acceleration: At 4.2 seconds, this two ton vehicle reaches 100 km/h (62 mph) 0.5 seconds quicker than the factory version. Accelerating from 100 km/h to 200 km/h in under 10 seconds, the gap between the edo M5 and the stock car grows to 5.0 seconds.

The upgraded interior makes the whole package even more compelling, thanks to its impeccable quality and the care that was taken in selecting the finest materials. From carbon fiber to precious leather, all the customer's wishes were met with this one of a kind interior. The high-performance wagon had its speedometer extended to 360 km/h and white dials with a backlit logo were installed as a finishing touch.

But the edo M5 Dark Edition is not just an athlete; it also makes a great daily driver with 5 seats and generous cargo space. On the way to the supermarket this rocket ship is perfectly tame, thanks to its remarkable level of comfort and the wonderfully smooth V10 engine. Casual observers would never guess what lurks under the hood.

Besides adding a touch of uniqueness, these new fiberglass-reinforced plastic body components also play a major role in improving the car's aerodynamics, and they include a new front bumper with restyled air vents and incorporated LED daytime running lights, new side sills, a boot-lid lip and a rear roof spoiler as well as a new rear bumper that includes the custom exhaust system.

The 2011 BMW 5 Series package from Wald International also contains a set of custom rims featuring 13 double-spokes per rim, and by looking at the photos we suspect that the car's suspension was lowered as well.

There are no details yet, but the kit has a carbon fiber front lip spoiler and extended side skirts, a trunk-mounted spoiler, an aggressive rear diffuser and a dual exhaust system.
