PP-Performance, the German chip tuning specialist has developed a power upgrade program for the latest BMW M5 model.<br />
The reprogramming, which can be carried out via the OBD interface or the control unit itself, sees output from the twin-turbocharged 4.4 L V8 rise from 412 kW (560 hp) and 680 Nm (502 lb/ft) of torque to 456 kW (612 hp) and 750 Nm (553 lb/ft). </p>
<p>Priced at € 3,499, the changes result in a 0-100 km/h (62 mph) time of 4.1 seconds – down from 4.4 s, and an increased top speed of 310 km/h (192 mph). The company says a stage two conversion is currently in the pipeline.</p>

<p>As the global leader in OEM suspension technology, Eibach has unrivalled access to chassis and technical data for all BMW models, resulting in a kit that offers factory levels of fit and finish, but combined with substantial improvements in handling and control over the showroom model. Naturally, all components come with full TUV approval and maintain the 6 series’ composure in all situations.</p>
<p>The first enhancement available is the Pro-Kit. These pre-stressed springs lower the car by around 30mm, lowering the centre of gravity and endowing the BMW with an aggressive stance. Bilstein, the respected German suspension manufacturer, has released a version of its much-vaunted BILSTEIN B12 matched spring and damper package for BMW’s now very affordable E46 M3. </p>
<p>The BILSTEIN B12 packages consist of four Eibach Pro-Kit springs and four matched BILSTEIN dampers, making for the ultimate ‘real-world’ handling upgrade that balances unparalleled ride quality with exemplary handling and poise. The well proven set-up offers a drop of approximately 20mm.</p>
<p>The BILSTEIN dampers that come with the kit draw heavily from the firm’s motorsport heritage and are carefully matched BILSTEIN B6 units, using BILSTEIN’S pioneering inverted monotube design and gas pressure technology, which is vastly superior to the twin-tube design fitted by most manufacturers. After full dyno analysis, each kit application has been signed off by BILSTEIN test drivers and engineers at both the Nürburgring as well as the industry-leading Papenburg test facility – hence the reason that the BILSTEIN B12 kit offers such a peerless ride and handling balance.</p>
<p>The springs have been pre-stressed, shot peened and tempered, before receiving a two-stage zinc-phosphate and electrostatic epoxy coating for a long and durable life. The kit comes with a comprehensive 2 year, unlimited mileage warranty. As one might expect from BILSTEIN, full TÜV approval for every single application comes as standard.</p>
<p>The combined effect of the complete BILSTEIN B12 kit is a car with less body roll that corners with vastly improved dynamics. Thanks to reduced squat and dive, acceleration and braking characteristics are also enhanced.</p>

Akrapovic has finally released an official video of the exhaust system for the BMW 1-Series M Coupe. The complete lineup for the BMW 1M includes a slip-on system, Evolution system, carbon fiber tail pipes, wireless kit and down pipe.</p>
<p>The systems do not only deliver more power and torque, but also give the car a more spectacular sound. In addition, the power is more balanced and the car responds more directly. The Evolution system delivers +20hp and a weight saving of over 20kg.</p>
