G-Power M3 GTS at the 2011 Gumball 3000 rally
At the end of the first stage at this year’s Gumball 3000 rally, the 635 hp G-POWER M3 GTS of „GTS Team Croatia“ was first to reach Paris out of 120 contestants.
The Gumball 3000, Europe’s offshoot of the legendary 1970’s Cannonball Run in America, is being held annually and runs over 3000 miles through various countries. The event’s special feature is the highly exclusive combination of both participating drivers and their vehicles.
Previous Gumball 3000 contestants include 2009 F1 world champion Jenson Button, David Hasselhoff, Johnny Knoxville, Snoop Dogg, Jamiroquai’s Jay Kay, Xzibit, Jackass’ Bam Margera and Ryan Dunn, supermodel Jodie Kidd and action sports legends Dave Mirra, Bucky Lasek, Matt Hoffmann and Tony Hawk.
Yet the vehicles on the grid are in no way inferior to the celebrity drivers at their wheels. Whether Ferrari, Lamborghini, Porsche, Aston Martin, Rolls Royce or Bugatti, the G-POWER M3 GTS pitches itself against the spear heads of the world’s automotive scene.
To be prepared for the 3000 mile full-throttle joyride through heat, dust and torturous roads, Team GTS Croatia’s G-Power SK II „Sporty Drive“ supercharger-equipped M3 GTS has been prepared for over 10.000 kilometres. The “training programme†included tuning runs on both unrestricted bits of Autobahn and the race track. Also, German car journal “sport auto†was allowed to convince itself of the G-POWER M3 GTS’ skills and provided our engineers with useful data.
All these efforts resulted in a perfect debut for the G-POWER M3 GTS – arriving first out of 120 vehicles in Paris – at the start of the “Tour de Force†through 10 countries in 5 days up to the finish line in Istanbul. We will keep you posted on the G-Power facebook page (link) throughout the event with up-to date pictures.
