KW coilovers for the new BMW F30

For more than five generations the BMW 3-series is one of the most successful models of the Munich manufacturer. Also for the new BMW F30, KW automotive has developed a wide range of coilovers in high quality stainless steel finish. The BMW F30 can be continuously lowered up to 65 mm within the German TÃœV approved adjustment range. Depending on the variant, the KW coilover kits can be adjusted in damper characteristic by the BMW driver himself.

Since many years the BMW 3-series made references in their class in driving dynamic and suspension setup. The reference for coilovers is the KW coilover kit Variant 3+ “inox-line” which is part of the worldwide Top-aftermarket products. With its patented valve technology for the separate compression and rebound damping adjustment, it convince the demanding sports car driver, tuner, as well as large- and small series manufacturer such as Alpina, MTM, Manthey, Oettinger and other leading companies.

Now the KW coilovers Variant 3+ are also available for the latest BMW 3-series sedan. “In the new design of the KW coilover Variant 3+ we have integrated the compression adjustment wheel in the bottom of the housing”, says Johannes Wacker, KW Product Manager. “To adjust the rebound damping, the adjustment wheel has to be attached on top of the front axle piston rod.” So it is possible directly from the engine compartment of the BMW F30 to significantly influent the handling and the comfort of the sedan with the rebound adjustment and the 16 exact click adjustment. “For example when drivers replace the tire / wheel combination from BMW against a bigger tire set or if the dimension of the standard break system will be changed thru a performance modification, this can be considered when adjusting the rebound”, KW product manager Johannes Wacker added. Those who want to drive their BMW demanding will notice it right away. Also the KW coilover kit Variant 3+ ensures already in basic setup an increase of the steering precision and tracking.

Even at a lowering of up to 65 mm at the front and 60 mm at the rear axle in combination with 20” alloy wheels and Dunlop tires, the rolling comfort at the BMW F30 will not be affected. Thru the separate adjustable compression damping with its sophisticated twelve step-adjustment, the driver can influent potential rolling movements of the F30-body, without to change the rebound damping which was set up optimally to the spring rate. The continuous lowering occurs at the dirt-resistant trapezoid threat directly at the stainless steel strut. At the front, the 3-series sedan can be lowered by 40 – 65 mm within the German TÃœV-tested adjustment range. At the rear axle the adjustment has to be made directly at the rear axle height adjustment in the range of 30 – 60 mm.

For BMW driver which do not set their focus on performance, will also be able to find an interesting possibility to lower their sedan in a sporty way with the two further KW coilover kits Variant 1 and Variant 2. While the KW coilover kit Variant 2 “inox-line” can be adjusted in rebound damping, this is not the case at the Variant 1 kit. All three KW coilovers for the BMW F30 are manufactured in long life stainless steel technology and allow a continuous lowering within the German TÃœV-tested adjustment range of 40 – 65 mm at the front axle and 30 – 60 mm at the rear axle for the use of attractive tire / wheel combinations.
